The Vienna Beach Trophy: A volleyball highlight in Vienna

The Vienna Beach Trophy is one of the biggest LGBTIQ+ beach volleyball tournaments in Europe, which has been held every year since the end of the 1990s. With teams from numerous countries, the Vienna Beach Trophy is always internationally oriented. For several years now, the tournament has been taking place at the beach volleyball center on Schmelz, which comprises eleven courts and offers participants and spectators an unforgettable experience.

Multiple levels

Thanks to the cooperation between Aufschlag Wien and Vienna's Queer Melange, the Vienna Beach Trophy is open to everyone: women, men and non-binary people. The tournament is played in various categories — with men's or mixed teams in four levels, both women in a Queen of the Court format.

Next to the square

The Vienna Beach Trophy is more than just a beach volleyball tournament; it is an event that combines sport, entertainment and community. An integral part of the supporting program is an after-party, where participants and friends can toast the tournament day and also prove their fitness on the dance floor. If not already on court, then new friendships will be made at the party at the latest.

Outlook for 2024 and 2025

As an exception, there will be no Vienna Beach Trophy in 2024, as the EuroGames offer a two-day beach volleyball tournament.

The next regular Vienna Beach Trophy is planned for August 2025 — be there!
