Flinta*-Basketball
We are a queer group of basketball enthusiasts who meet twice a week to play basketball together.
We play at a hobby level. Basic basketball skills are an advantage, but having fun moving is paramount at our game nights — if you share that, you're a very good fit for us.
We are between 20 and 50+ years of age and play regardless of game level, language skills, physical requirements or transition.
Our group consists mostly of female-identified people, and we welcome Flinta*s who feel comfortable and want to move around respectfully.
Interested? There is an opportunity to come to a trial practice.
Date and location
During the summer months (May to October), we play outdoor on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 20:00 in the 21st district and on Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00 in the 19th district. For the rest of the year, we play on Tuesdays in the 10th district in a hall between 18:00 and 21:00 and on Thursdays in a gym in the 19th district from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Attendance at both dates is not necessary but possible.
All towns are easily accessible by public transport — with the 37er/38er or on foot from U4/U6 Spittelau or in the immediate vicinity of the U6 terminal in Floridsdorf or via Matzleinsdorferplatz.
Showers and toilets are located everywhere on site. If you have a basketball, take it with you. Indoor shoes or sports shoes with a light sole are important for the indoor season.
Costs
The membership fee is 10 euros per semester. It is possible to try it out three times without membership.
