The original Aufschlag Wien logo was already a colorful homage to the Pride flag. Now we've evolved it and decided to use the colors of the Progress flag. This decision reflects our recognition of continued development and diversity in our community.

But what does the Progress Flag actually mean? Originally created in 2018 by designer Daniel Quasar, the Progress flag aims to represent diversity within the LGBTIQ+ community. It includes additional stripes in black and brown to highlight marginalized LGBTIQ+ people of color, as well as the colors pink, light blue and white, which represent the transgender flag. It is important to mention that this flag does not claim to explicitly represent all minorities, but rather symbolizes continuous progress and development in the community.

As part of the redesign of our logo, we slightly updated the typography, while maintaining the distinctive mix of uppercase and lowercase letters from our original design. This sophisticated approach ensures that the new design builds on our club's rich heritage, while also signaling our commitment to inclusivity and progress.”

With this new logo, we want to send a strong signal: Aufschlag Wien is an association that is open to everyone,” says our club president Gerhard Marchl. “The colors of the Progress flag symbolize the diversity and inclusivity that we promote in our association. We hope that the new logo will help to further spread our message of acceptance and cooperation.”

Aufschlag Wien is excited about the future and will continue to proudly pursue its mission of promoting and supporting sport in the LGBTIQ+ community with its new logo.

We would like to thank all members and friends of Aufschlag Wien for their continued support. Here's to a sporting future full of joint victories!
