Vienna Valentine9 – Break ice. Break records!

After an (unwilling) 4 years of break, mainly due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, the ninth edition of the Vienna Valentine Tournament made a comeback at the weekend of the 17th to the 19th of February 2023. More than 280 athletes came together for VIVA9. Austria’s largest international sports event for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex athletes and friends offering swimming and volleyball competitions.

The swimming tournament was organized by SC Diana/Kraulquappen. In total, more than 151 swimmers representing various clubs, most of them from abroad, took part in the competitions. For more information and the final results, you can visit : https://a-timing.wien/events/9th-vienna-valentein-2023/

The volleyball tournament, hosted by Sportverein Aufschlag Wien, attracted more than 129 competitors and was carried out in three categories: A/B+, B- and C. A total of 19 teams – a record number – from Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Switzerland competed for the crystal medals. The team “Maleange” from Vienna made the first place in level A/B+, the “Backdoor Boys” from Ljubljana prevailed in B-, and team “Peppermint Boys” from Stuttgart, won the final of level C.

After an intensive sports day, athletes, supporters and friends celebrated together at the official after the party powered  by „is gay“ at Camera Club.
