Vienna Beach Trophy 2019

It was a hot day, that 24th of August, in many aspects. At more than 30 degrees, the Vienna Beach Trophy, our international beach volleyball tournament, gathered 25 teams practically from the whole globe. The competitions took place again at Beachvolleyballzentrum Schmelz. Medals were awarded in four categories. In level A, the highest category, team “Argentoelana” (Peter and Stefan from Austria) gained gold. After the matches, our sportsmen relaxed at the barbecue and at late night at the official closing party at Ken Club @ Fluc.

Vienna Beach Trophy 2019 – Facts

Our famous Central Europe Beach Volleyball Tournament, the Vienna Beach Trophy, will take place on August 23 and 24, playing on Saturday 24.

The Vienna Beach Trophy has become one of the biggest gay and lesbian tournaments in Europe played by beach rules. A team consists of two persons.

We will be playing on up to eleven beach volleyball courts at Beachvolleyballzentrum Schmelz.

VIVA 2019 – Results/Ergebnisse

More than 330 athletes at Vienna Valentine8

According to the motto “Break ice. Break records!”, the eight edition of the Vienna Valentine tournament took place on the weekend from 15 to 17 February 2019. More than 330 athletes from 15 countries took part in VIVA8 Austria’s largest international sports event for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people offered swimming and volleyball competitions.

The swimming tournament was organized by SC Diana/Kraulquappen. In total, more than 210 swimmers, many of them from abroad, participated in the competitions. For more information and the results: https://viva.kraulquappen.at/index.php/en/about-viva/results.html.

The volleyball tournament, hosted by Sportverein Aufschlag Wien, attracted more than 120 competitors and was carried out in three categories: B+, B-, and C. In sum, 18 teams – a record number – from Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and United Kingdom competed for the crystal medals. The team “Pit Crew” from London made the first place in level B+, the “Fireflies” from Ljubljana won in B-, and “Royal Unicorns” from Vienna were the best in level C.

After an intensive sports day, athletes, supporters, and friends celebrated together at “Porntrash” at Club Alice, one of the hippest party locations in Vienna.

VIVA9 will be taking place in February 2021! See you there!

Vienna Beach Trohpy 2018 – Results/Ergebnisse

We are proud that 28 teams participated in the 2018 edition of the Vienna Beach Trophy on 25 August at Beachvolleyballzentrum Schmelz. As usual, about the half of the competitors came from abroad to demonstrate their beach volleyball skills. Despite the quite moderate temperatures, the teams enjoyed playing many intensive matches on nine courts. The barbecue right after the tournament as well as the official closing party at Why Not gave opportunity to relax.
